CMBA has approximately 500 members in its trade Association, was formed in 1971 and serves the housing and residential construction industry in Central Minnesota and its surrounding counties. While its primary purpose is to serve the home builder member, the Association's services and activities benefit Associate members (i.e., plumbers, electricians, landscapers), related Associations, government and the public at large.

A tax credit of up to $8,000
is now available for qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009.
